Gangnam District is the economic, financial and cultural hub of Seoul and many large enterprises are headquartered in the district, which is similar to Futian District as a young district playing an important role in Shenzhen.

The overall value of export and import between Futian District and South Korea reached US$4 billion last year. A total of 171 South Korean companies have invested in Futian District, with the total investment amounting to US$44.81 million, while 1,464 registered residents from South Korea are living in the district.
